Immersed tunnel design Hong Kong – Zhuhai – Macau Fixed Link project
Project description
The Pearl River Delta is one of the most densely populated areas in China and in the World and is growing rapidly. With this growth, there is also a growing need for infrastructure between the cities in the Pearl River Delta. The Hong Kong – Zhuhai – Macau Fixed Link project spans a length of over 50 kilometres and consists of several bridges, artificial islands and 6 kilometres of immersed tunnel. This made it the longest immersed tunnel project in the world at the time the design was proposed.
MH Poly was asked by the client to check the pre-tender design of the immersed tunnel and advise on the project design in general.
