Immersed aqueduct in the N57 road, Middelburg, The Netherlands

Project description

The national highway N57 is a 77 km long Dutch highway. It starts near Brielle and Rozenburg to Middelburg where it is connected to the A58. It is an important traffic road in Zeeland across four of the dams of the Delta works. A part of the new road is crossing a channel at Walcheren. To minimize environmental impact and obstruction of the shipping in the channel, the road is designed as an immersed tunnel with an aqueduct on top of it. MH Poly designed the underwater lifting points for the immersion and made most of the as-built drawings for the whole project.

Project scope

- Design and calculation of lifting points.
