Project description

The quay wall of the port of Constanta is extended in order by the Romanian port authority the National Company Maritime Ports Administration Constanta. MH Poly is involved in cooperation with the Romanian engineering company SC Cinnamon Project SRL (C-Project). Together they have been awarded a contract to supervise the management of the project. In addition, MH Poly is asked to advice on specialist subjects.

The quay wall will be extended with a gravitational based structure. An total length of 170 m will be constructed. This is done with prefab concrete blocks which will have a total height of 15 m. The concrete blocks are placed on a foundation of crushed rocks. The quay wall will be suitable for mooring and loading and unloading of vessels up to 65.000 DWT. In addition to the new quay wall an extra port area of 10.900 m2 will be realised.

- Checking of the design and supervising the technical implementation;
- Advice on specialist subjects such as geo-engineering;
- On-site inspections of the execution phase.
