Project Description
Pressure vessels are essential components in industrial process plants, where liquids and gases are stored and processed under pressure. The objective of this project was to design two reliable and safe pressure vessels that fully comply with applicable regulations and operational specifications.
MH Poly was responsible for the complete engineering process, from 3D design and structural verification to the preparation of detailed manufacturing documentation. Particular attention was given to pressure loads, material selection, manufacturability, and long-term operational reliability.
Our Scope of Work
The project began with the development of detailed 3D models in Autodesk Inventor, forming the basis for all subsequent engineering activities and design verification.
Comprehensive pressure vessel calculations were then performed to confirm that the design complies with the applicable standards and can safely withstand all specified operating and design loads.
Following successful validation, general arrangement and detailed fabrication drawings were prepared, including:
- Nozzles – connection points for the inlet and outlet of process fluids and gases
- Lifting lugs – structural lifting points for the safe handling and transportation of the pressure vessel
- Supports – support structures designed to carry the vessel weight and external loads
- Manway assembly – inspection opening complete with flange, sealing arrangement, and davit arm for safe maintenance access
Each component was engineered with a strong focus on manufacturability, operational safety, and ease of maintenance.
Result
The project resulted in two fully engineered and structurally verified pressure vessels. The client received a complete engineering package, including 3D models, general arrangement drawings, and detailed fabrication drawings covering weld details, nozzles, and other critical connections.
